Luigi Gado has spent his entire career in the financial services field, taking part in the main changes occurred in the last 25 years and building a large network of relationships.
Following three years teaching at Bocconi University, he started his career at Banca Popolare di Milano in 1991 as Assistant to the General Manager to support bank’s top management as project manager of corporate finance and new business operations. This experience allowed him to join in mid 1995 the consulting (Accenture Strategy, then McKinsey) where he spent almost five years developing strong strategy and change management skills, always serve financial institutions. He mainly led projects of distribution channels management, sales operations and product development, specializing in retail banking, wealth management and life insurance.

He left McKinsey when get married and for more than fifteen years has been C-Level Executive (responsible for product, marketing and sales but also operations) and board member for both Italian and international banking groups. Indeed, from 1999 to 2012 he had four significant managerial experiences as Chief Commercial Officer of Credit Suisse (Italy), Head of Financial Advisors Network Development of Finanza e Futuro Banca (the Italian asset management arm of Deutsche Asset Management), Chief Commercial Officer of Antonveneta ABN AMRO Bank (the wealth management division of Banca Antonveneta, now part of Banca MPS) and Commercial Co-Director of IW Bank (now IW Bank Private Investments) always with P&L and BS responsibility.

His banking expertise combines physical (retail branches, private banking offices), mobile sales force (tied-agents, insurance agents, IFAs) and digital (B2B and B2C electronic funds distribution platforms) customer interaction; in these areas he’s recognized as an industry veteran and he’s regularly asked to uncover insights into companies and markets by private equity firms and strategy consultancies.

Throughout his career, he also demonstrated significant start up skills: in 1999/2001 he lead the re-launch of Credit Suisse retail activities in Italy; in 2002-2007 he built up from scratch the Sales & Marketing department of the wealth management division of Banca Antonveneta; in 2008-12 he set up a business unit within IW Bank dedicated to serving the independent financial advisors (IFAs) and act as custodian and broker for their clients; in 2016-17 he lead a Financial Broking firm (founded and wholly owned by Osculati & Partners) to move from the survive stage to the growth and establishment phase.
